Manage new product life cycles through trend research, vendor art management, merchandising plans, and web integration.  


  • Assist in trend research seasonally to give guidance to vendor art departments and freelance graphic designers for new product concepts
  • Coordinate designs and prototypes with vendors, ensuring proper, timely execution and quality control. Including creating detailed tech specs and developing artwork
  • Review and edit incoming design concepts to ensure commercial viability and adherence to brand standards, cost matrix, product quality and uniqueness to the brand.
  • Maintain and understand brand aesthetic in the development of an innovative product line and brand standard guidelines
  • Work collaboratively with Buying Team to identify and develop items and plan assortments to accomplish product strategy
  • Coordinate approvals with the Director of Product Development, Buyer, Artist and other appropriate entities
  • Access the competition with respects to financial conditions, trends, marketing and product strategy
  • Ensure appropriate use of trademarks and copyrights.
  • Manage product photography and product information uploads (and removal as necessary) to the ecommerce sites in a timely manner
  • Must be flexible in accepting assignments and direction, each of which can change to meet the needs of the business at any time.



  • College degree in Apparel Design, Product Design and Graphic Design and/or Fashion Merchandising.


  • Knowledge of product development processes and industry trends in accessories, apparel, home goods, giftware, and glassware.
  • Highly creative with the ability to filter such creativity through the reality of brands and consumer.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, manage time efficiently to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Strong communications skills – both verbal and written with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and enlist support with other management staff, employees and others with whom the company conducts business.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in product design.
  • Intermediate to expert Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop.
  • Graphic Design and Flat Sketching skills preferred.
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Be knowledgeable of industry and competitive trends; interpret trends for our brands and consumer.
