Overview

Assists in general maintenance functions to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for the guests and fellow workers of the Grand Ole Opry House during events and shows. Assist with additional maintenance duties including painting, plumbing and minor repairs during events.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as maintenance representative on duty for shows and events, trouble shooting, and conducting minor repairs.
  • Work all events to ensure guest comfort and safety.
  • Performs maintenance for and assists in set up of special events.
  • Trouble-shoots issues with HVAC equipment, adjusting properly to ensure proper air temperature for comfort of our guests.
  • Trouble-shoots problems with plumbing fixtures, making minor repairs and calling supervisor for assistance when necessary.
  • Trouble-shoots concession equipment problems (coffee makers, popcorn machines, warmers, etc.); making minor repairs on-site or calling supervisor for assistance when necessary.
  • Assists in maintaining electrical systems, including repair switches and changing lights; some at extreme heights
  • Makes structural repairs and maintains building’s general operations. (Door hardware, pews and woodwork, etc.)
  • Assist in vehicle maintenance, trouble-shooting problems with golf carts while on duty.
  • Receive deliveries and unloads and stores delivered materials as necessary.
  • Helps set up/tear down tables, chairs, draperies, etc. for special events
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:           

  • Requires High School education or equivalent.

Experience:         

  • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in maintaining tow motors, trucks, chillers, pumps, saws, drills, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC equipment.

Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Valid TN driver’s license required. Ability to complete requirements needed to receive refrigerant usage certification within 1 year.
