Overview

The Director of Marketing will manage marketing, public relations and digital initiatives for the historic Ryman Auditorium and Café Lula.  This individual will partner closely with venue leadership to develop and implement long and short-term strategies to grow revenue, increase attendance/traffic and expand brand awareness. Additionally, he/she will have the opportunity to directly impact the growth and profitability of both operations through the execution of market specific programs, local marketing, community outreach and promotions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute and measure local and regional marketing and public relations strategies (print, radio, TV, digital, outdoor, street, etc.) and materials to increase general consumer and industry exposure, while achieving attendance and budget goals
  • Partner with venue leadership, promoters, rental clients and performing artist teams to set, develop and execute marketing budgets, plans and materials for Ryman and Opry House concerts & events
  • Drive brand awareness of Café Lula to increase traffic to the restaurant, leveraging special events, museum tours and other downtown Nashville community and sporting events
  • Utilize strategic marketing tactics and creative outlets to drive incremental revenue on show and non-show nights 
  • Collaborate with Opry Entertainment Group Sales and Marketing departments on daytime tour marketing
  • Collaborate with Partnership Manager on sponsorship fulfillment and execution, ensuring that all agreement components and expectations are met within the venue
  • Work with the sponsorship team during acquisition phases, ensuring accurate tracking and measurement of sponsorship benefits
  • Manage Ryman branding (name, image, likeness and trademarks) to ensure consistency and quality, includes both external branding (from advertising to usage of Ryman brand by third parties) and internal branding (signage, uniforms, etc.)
  • Work with venue leadership to create and evaluate new products including, but not limited to proprietary programming (new concert series, in-house promoted & produced events, theatrical productions, etc.), exclusive Ryman content development (for retail items, television & internet usage, etc.) and customer membership programs/clubs
  • Manage internal communications specifically for The Ryman Auditorium and Café Lula
  • Serve as “manager on duty” for various public and private events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:          

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, related discipline or equivalent experience required
  • MBA with concentration in Marketing or Communications preferred

Experience:       

  • Minimum 7 years marketing experience in consumer advertising, promotional planning and implementation required
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience required
  • Concert promotions experience preferred
  • PR campaign implementation and media coverage (variety of outlet types) experience preferred
  • Social media and website project management experience preferred
