Sales Manager will represent and sell the attractions (primarily Grand Ole Opry, Opry House Tours, Ryman Auditorium Tours, General Jackson Showboat/ Ole Red) and be responsible for private event sales at our attraction venues. They will be the representative of the Grand Ole Opry Entertainment Group to distinct group market segments, primarily Davidson and surrounding county’s businesses and corporate entities.   This position will handle events and ticketing needs for Grand Ole Opry Entertainment Group through professional channels from the surrounding area. The Sales Manager will work to acquire new clients, retain existing clients and recover lost business for Grand Ole Opry Entertainment Group by continual sales visits in the community as well as lead prospecting. 


  • Solicit, sell, negotiate and service clients to achieve annual sales goals.  Must actively book business across assigned segments. Working with clients to understand their needs, working with internal staff to develop detailed event plans and issue contracts.
  • Build positive, productive relationships with Nashville hotel and concierge staff and local Destination Management companies to facilitate the sale of Grand Ole Opry Entertainment Group offerings to groups utilizing their services.  Sales Manager must fully understand their varied processes in order maximize sales from each.
  • Represent the attractions at area chambers of commerce, professional organizations and corporate events in the Nashville area.  They will be responsible for phone solicitation, on-site visits and off-site sales calls presenting clients with product options that best fit their needs. 
  • Coordinate event specifics with all departments and vendors, clearly describing the clients’ objectives, and planning details regarding schedules, staffing, equipment rentals, etc.
  • Effectively communicate with the Group Customer Service team to ensure orders are booked and serviced properly.
  • Participate in the development of sales tools/materials including profile sheets, sales kits and videos targeting area corporate planners and business leaders for ticketing and private event revenue streams.
  • Develop and implement programs (e.g., specific packages, booking procedures) to increase sales revenue.
  • Attend/represent Grand Ole Opry Entertainment Group at local industry meetings, community gatherings including speaking engagements to solicit business.
  • Focus on the area of private event sales for the Opry, Ryman and Ole Red.  Responsible for product development and creative selling techniques including social media integration to achieve required goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned



  • Bachelor’s degree/diploma in business, marketing or sales or equivalent additional experience.


  • Five or more years of experience in Attraction or Destination Sales is preferred.
