Overview

Maximize sales and ensure profitability of all Media & Entertainment Groups retail outlets and internet stores by leading the planning and analyzing of merchandise assortments and promotional activity to help drive merchant decision making that will meet with consumer expectations:

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of seasonal business plans and allocation and replenishment strategies and auditing of inventory issues to maximize sales, profit and turns.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Retail Operations, drive the planning process for inventory levels by stores.  Determine the category and item analyses appropriate in determining quantities per store.  Drive the inventory strategies with the replenishment/allocation team.  Determine appropriate inventory level for the Warehouse based on seasonality and events.  
  • Lead and Drive in stock position for all bestselling inventory items through planning and forecasting. Provide analysis for the development of min/max and par levels by item/store.  Provide Sr. Buyer and Buyer, Allocation and Replenishment Analyst recommendations to ensure proper inventory levels for new product sets, events
  • Drive retail reporting weekly, monthly and annually.  Partner with Finance and IT to determine format, information provided and ensure the team has reports in a timely manner each week.  Utilize systems and reports to maximize sales and profits.  Manage file maintenance to support the procurement cycle in an organized and secure manner.  Drive and lead the monthly OTB and the seasonal Business Planning. (Buyers and Stores)
  • Drive vendor score carding -  including sales, profitability, turn, markdowns to determine inventory needs – provide buyers with recommendations
  • Utilize analytical thinking skills to identify potential problems and develop appropriate solutions.  Review and analyze inventory levels and upcoming and changing trends due to seasonality or events.
  • Partner with the Director of Store Operations to and the Warehouse Manager to plan monthly/weekly project flow and warehouse inventory
  • Train and Develop and Coach team members
  • Lead audit and obsolete inventory process.  Key participant in annual inventory reconciliation
  • Assist in customer service for both the Retail employees and our Guests.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:           

  • College degree or equivalent relevant work experience required.

Experience:         

  • Minimum 2 years allocation and replenishment experience and 2 years in a Planning leadership role.  
  • Superb computer skills including experience with retail purchasing systems, spreadsheet and database software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extremely analytical and solution oriented. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed. Ability to multi-task. Capable of working with limited supervision. 
  • Retail experience required. 
  • Net Suites system expertise a plus.
