Overview

Maximize sales and ensure profitability of all Media & Entertainment Groups retail outlets and internet stores by analyzing merchandise assortments and promotional activity and allocating and replenishing inventory to meet with consumer demands and market trends:

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Director of Retail Operations, Sr. Buyer, Buyer and Business Manager/Planner to ensure optimal inventory levels at each store location to drive sales.  Perform category and item analyses to determine appropriate quantities per store to maximize turn in stores and warehouse. 
  • Maintain in stock position for all bestselling inventory items through planning and forecasting. Manage replenishing transfers.   Assist in the development of min/max and par levels by item/store. 
  • Utilize systems and reports to maximize sales and profits.  Manage file maintenance to support the procurement cycle in an organized and secure manner.  Assist as needed to Key orders and monitor order status and resolve any order issues in a timely manner.
  • In partnership with the Business Manager, perform vendor analysis including sales, profitability, turn, operations and markdowns to determine inventory needs – provide buyers with recommendations.
  • Utilize analytical thinking skills to identify potential inventory problems and develop appropriate solutions.  Review and analyze inventory levels and upcoming and changing trends due to seasonality or events.
  • Partner with the Business Manager/Planner and the Warehouse Manager to project flow and warehouse inventory
  • Provide Sr. Buyer and Buyer allocation and replenishment recommendations to ensure proper inventory levels for new product sets, events
  • Participant in annual inventory reconciliation
  • Other duties as assigned

 

 

 

Qualifications

Education:

College degree or equivalent relevant work experience required.

 

Experience: 

Minimum 2 years previous retail allocation and replenishment experience.  Superb computer skills including experience with retail purchasing systems, spreadsheet and database software. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Extremely analytical and solution oriented.  Ability to work flexible hours as needed. Ability to multi-task. Capable of working with limited supervision.  Retail experience required
