Overview

The Lead Designer crafts the look, tone and feel of emerging and established brands in conjunction with key stakeholders, other members of the Creative and Marketing teams as well as external vendors.  Everything we do, from developing advertising, website and email images, logos, collateral, presentations, and other marketing, sales, and promotional materials should reflect the Opry, Opry City Stage, Ryman, WSM, Ole Red, Hee Haw and Opry Entertainment brands while achieving the objectives of specific programs and initiatives. The design lead is responsible for helping to ensure brand standards are met across all marketing disciplines and contributing to work generated by brand marketing partners, sponsors, various internal departments, and others through a variety of brand experiences. Agency experience preferred. A love of retail, installation art, storytelling and music are all bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Create audience centric, strategic brand experiences through concepts, ads, logos, digital designs and collateral. Develop effective, well-crafted work by staying up-to-date on design and communication trends, as well as best-practices in file and software use and storage.
  • Work in partnership with the Marketing, Sales and Operational teams and project stakeholders across the organization, to efficiently assess and solve design challenges. Included in this is determining appropriate material specifications from publications, printers, etc., to ensure files are built correctly and delivered in a timely manner. Traffic all materials alongside our Project Management team.
  • Organize and present award-winning design solutions that engage audiences while meeting our weekly schedule of communications initiatives - including printed programs, flyers, marquees, live audience reads, presentations, posters, banners, signage and even branded exhibits and installations.
  • Establish and maintain brand standards across all communications including collateral, advertising, environmental design, product development and digital publishing.
  • Represent our team well through collaborative relationships with vendors, including editors, writers, craftsmen, freelance designers and printers, while ensuring favorable pricing and prioritization of our needs. Secure production bids, review proofs and place orders for applicable projects.
  • Support the Design team with enthusiasm, creative insight and investment in establishing new and existing brands through traditional and non-traditional brand experiences.
  • Other duties as assigned.
