Overview

Mix live audio performances at Ryman Auditorium and at other OEG venues, ensuring world-class technical execution and the delivery of quality experiences for visiting artists, production teams and fans.  Act as the Ryman Audio Services representative, supporting the Ryman Production Manager / Audio Engineer, assisting and interfacing with visiting audio engineers, broadcast trucks and production vendors.   

Responsibilities

  • Plan, set up and operate audio equipment and systems for live and taped
  • productions, recordings and any other audio needs of Ryman Auditorium and its
  • clients.
  • Maintain knowledge of all professional audio equipment, all routing, all processing
  • and recording devices.
  • Operate all audio related equipment.
  • Maintain awareness of music structures and arrangements including current technologies..
  • Perform maintenance and cleaning of equipment, as necessary.
  • Select alternate equipment and systems routing in order to troubleshoot and work around
  • Potential failures occurring during event production.
  • May interface with producers, clients and talent as to their needs, making recommendations as appropriate in order to create the desired sound (mood).
  • Assist audio supervisor, monitor engineer, broadcast engineer and production mgr as needed.
  • Ensure that all equipment is used safely, in accordance with proper industry standards, from the load in through the load out. 
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for artists, clients, employees, etc ensuring that all codes, laws, regulations and emergency procedures are followed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent additional experience.

Experience:

  • Five or more years experience as an Audio Engineer. 
  • Thorough knowledge of professional audio systems and equipment. 
  • Basic knowledge of music, acoustics and electronics. 
  • Ability to interface with management and clients.
