Overview

The Director of Marketing will work with our Opry Entertainment Group – for all our brands including Ole Red, Opry City Stage, Ryman, and the Grand Ole Opry.  The best fit candidate must possess a comprehensive marketing background, preferably in the entertainment industry, with significant experience growing brands, building strong digital communities, utilizing and understanding data to drive decision making, and creating branded experiences within venues.  The role’s purpose is to lead the development and flawless execution of marketing and communications initiatives with focus on growing and leveraging our database and vibrant social community.  As a consumer insights expert, he/she will help analyze and segment our local, national and global consumer base to maximize revenue opportunities and forge stronger, contextually relevant relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Translate business objectives and strategies into actionable, integrated marketing programs across all disciplines including advertising, interactive, promotions and publicity.
  • Work with CMO to design comprehensive, strategic, high-quality marketing plans that guide our leaders and teams to achieve both short and long-term goals.
  • Create dynamic, omni-channel marketing initiatives that drive engagement and lifetime relationship with OEG offerings including Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, Ole Red, Opry City Stage, as well as support our Retail, Artist Relations and Programming, Event Sales and Sponsorship initiatives.
  • Guide all marketing campaigns from budgets to communications and work flow, to on-time deliverables.
  • Evaluate marketing initiatives to determine profitability and success rate, then make recommendations to improve performance or shifts in direction.
  • Grow/fully leverage our database and vibrant social community to accelerate current and future business results across OEG brands.
  • Serve as the primary marketing point of contact as necessary for outside agencies or consultants, setting and communicating clear direction and monitoring results.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with media partners, potential and current sponsors and marketing partners, and artists/artist management as needed to further the Opry brand and achieve business objectives.
  • Seek and create new promotional and partnership opportunities for OEG brands.
  • Contribute ideas that will drive existing and ancillary revenue streams for the Opry and assist in supporting the marketing efforts of the other business units within the Opry Entertainment Group.
  • Ensure that brand standards are upheld throughout all creative and marketing communications.

Qualifications

Education:            

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Advertising/ Communications or equivalent additional experience.

Experience:         

  • 7 or more years of experience planning and executing marketing/advertising/promotional campaigns that deliver results. 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:          

  • Able to juggle multiple priorities and needs while maneuvering sudden changes of direction in marketplace. 
  • High organizational skills. 
  • Leadership, people skills and diplomacy are a must as this role interfaces with many personalities in many disciplines. 
  • Also important are curiosity and interest in new technologies and trends and how they affect our customers and businesses. 
  • The ability to foster a fun and healthy workplace culture is critical.
