Under the direction of the Archivist, the Project Manager coordinates and executes archival processing project activities according to established timeline and work plan while supervising work of project assistants.
Oversee and unpack, sort, survey, inventory the collection items and arrange by type and material; tag and label each item with a unique identifying number and log that into an Excel inventory worksheet.
Train and supervise two full-time Project Assistants who will carry out collection processing tasks.
Oversee and perform basic conservation cleaning tasks on collection items as needed and identify and document items requiring preservation treatments.
Oversee and rehouse items as needed into archival enclosures, folders, and boxes.
Track progress and provide weekly progress reports to supervising Archivist.
BA History or Museum Studies; MSILS candidate or equivalent knowledge required.
1-3 years of experience in museum registration.
Demonstrated knowledge of standard museum registration and object handling practices and procedures. Database knowledge is required (TMS experience preferred) as well as a proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to work independently; can manage and communicate well with others.
