    Circle Media is a new experience bringing fans, artists and the country lifestyle together like never before. This Ryman Hospitality Properties (think Grand Ole Opry, Gaylord Hotels, and Ryman Auditorium to name a few entities) and Gray TV joint venture has launched a Linear (TV) Network,  We are not stopping there, as we are preparing for our grand SVOD Digital launch in second quarter 2020.  There is not a better time to join this fast past startup bringing the Circle to Nashville, and the Nation!


    This position will lead engineer for SVOD/OTT middle tier of Application Program Interface (API) orchestration layer which integrates all vendors/partners together to create a single, seamless user experience.


    • Playing a key role in architectural and design decisions, building toward an efficient microservices distributed architecture.
    • Building microservices - Lambda, Google Function, Serverless, as well as building Restful or GraphQL APIs.
    • Focus on latency reduction, increased uptime and improving production deployment processes.
    • Design and build new systems from the ground up.
    • Expect daily interaction with CI/CD and Cloud DevOps tools such as Travis, CircleCI and GitLab, CodeDeploy, Serverless and Terraform.
    • Weekly interaction with the following systems: AWS technologies like EC2, S3, DynamoDb, RedShift, API Gateway, Route 53 and AppSync.
    • Build SaaS and digital subscription payment solutions such as Stripe and Recurly.
    • Utilizing third-party analytics libraries like Google Analytics, MixPanel, Conviva and Mux.
    • Design and implement new features with our Product Team.
    • Participate in the deployment of various cloud-based technologies needed to implement projects.
    • Mentor junior developers.


    • BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent professional experience.
    • 8+ years overall experience in software engineering.
    • 5+ years experience as a backend developer including implementing API orchestration layers.
    • 5+ years experience developing high traffic consumer-facing applications/platforms
    • 3+ years as engineering team lead.
    • 12 Factor application principles.
    • Experience working in an Agile delivery environment (Scrum) is a must..
    • Strong understanding of DynamoDB, Redis, Mongo or other similar No-SQL data stores.
    • Experience in building SVOD products a big plus - streaming technology, video players, video encoding and integrating platforms such as Brightcove, Kaltura, AWS Elastic Transcoding, Mux, Fastly, Panthera, etc.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Experience with high volume, high availability production systems.
